OIS Emergency Telephone Number for Border Issues

The Office of International Services has established an emergency telephone number to assist international students and scholars who encounter problems when attempting to enter the U.S. This number, 443.240.1938, may be used when university offices are closed to clarify an individual’s legal immigration status, JHU affiliation, or otherwise answer questions from Customs and Border Protection officers or similar government officials. Note that at times, the staff member may not be able to immediately answer the telephone call. Should the call go to voicemail, leave a clear message or call back in a few minutes.

This emergency number is only for immigration and visa related emergencies that require an immediate response. Inquiries on admission, issuance of new or renewed visa documents, or routine immigration questions will not be answered and must be made to the appropriate office during regular business hours.
