International Rotater Clearance

Individuals who are not U.S. citizens must be cleared by the Office of International Student, Faculty & Staff Services PRIOR to registering with the School of Medicine for an approved rotation. This includes U.S. Legal Permanent Residents (green card holders).

Clearance Procedures

At least five business days before beginning your rotation, complete the following clearance procedures.

  1. Provide the required information in the attached Rotator Check-In Form
     
  2. Request a letter of Good Standing from your current training program. The letter must include a statement that your salary and benefits will be covered in full during your stay at Johns Hopkins
     
  3. Scan documents to verify your immigrant or non-immigrant status specifically:
    • J-1 Alien Physicians sponsored by ECFMG: scan your DS 2019 Form, Passport ID page [if the Passport ID page does not include the expiration date, be sure to scan the page showing the passport is valid and not expired in addition to the Passport ID page], I-94 card [Front AND Back];
       
    • H-1B Temporary Workers: scan your I-797 A [H-1B Approval Notice] Passport ID page [if the Passport ID page does not include the expiration date, be sure to scan the page showing the passport is valid and not expired in addition to the Passport ID page], I-94 card [Front AND Back]
       
    • U.S. Legal Permanent Residents or pending Legal Permanent Residents: scan your Permanent Resident Card [Form I-551] or Employment Authorization Document [EAD]
       
  4. Email the completed Rotator Check-In form, your letter of good standing and the appropriate immigration documents in PDF OR JPG format to: Intl-Rotators@jhmi.edu

Confirmation From OIS

After all required documentation is received and reviewed you will receive a confirmation email.  You must print the confirmation e-mail and take it to the School of Medicine Registrar’s Office to register for your rotation on or before your first day on the floor.
