Clinical Training at JHMI

Foreign medical graduates participating in clinical training require ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) sponsorship in the J-1 Alien Physician category.  US Medical Graduates will be considered for clinical H-1B sponsorship by JHMI.

J-1 Alien Physician Immigration Sponsorship

The OIS implemented a new electronic J-1 process on February 6, 2017. This process will allow sponsoring Departments and J-1 applicants to submit all forms through iHopkins, the central database used by the OIS to process J-1 applications. As of February 28, 2017, all J-1 requests must be submitted via iHopkins.  Departmental Administrators who do not have access to iHopkins must attend a training session prior to being granted access.  See below for details.

If you have questions about the J-1 Alien Physician request process, email j1ecfmg@jhmi.edu.
